Yes I know green smoothies have been done to death but they are such a regular part of my diet now because there's so many variations and it's the perfect way to tick all the boxes which can be difficult to achieve in a lot of breakfast meals...protein, greens, healthy fats and complex carbs. This one might sound like an unusual combo but do give it a go, I promise you won't be disappointed.
1 cup of milk (cashew is good but any kind will do)
Handful of spinach
knob of turmeric
knob of ginger
1 teaspoon spirulina/wheatgrass
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1/4 lemon, juice only
Optional: protein powder or raw egg to really up the protein.
Mix all ingredients in a high speed blender, add more water if you prefer a thinner consistency.
