GREEN SMOOTHIE BOWL

avocado banana breakfast chia seeds dairy free dates flaxseeds gluten free greens kale recipes smoothie bowl spirulina vegan Jun 22, 2015

I do love my green smoothies. I often mix it up between a smoothie and and a smoothie bowl purely depending on what it turns out like after blending! If I haven't put much liquid in I get a smoothie bowl, if I have I get a smoothie, it's as simple as that.

This one is particularly delicious and creamy thanks to the avocado full of healthy fats, fibre, vitamin K and folate. You've got a banana in there for an energy hit, plenty of greens with kale and spirulina and because I love healthy fats so much some flaxseeds and chia seeds for an omega-3 fatty acids. I have added some protein powder but this is optional as not everyone enjoys the taste and texture.

Serves 1

Ingredients

2 stalks of kale, leaves only
1/2 banana
1/4 avocado
1 fresh date, pitted
1 scoop natural vanilla protein powder
1 tablespoon flaxseeds
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon spirulina (optional)
1 cup milk, any kind (or more to get your preferred consistency)
Tiny squeeze of lemon juice
Toppings: Goji Berries, Coconut and Cacao

Directions

Blend all of the above ingredients in a high speed blender until thick and smooth.
